Puerto Rico was ranked the most vulnerable country in the world to climate crisis-related weather events from 2000-2019
Las Marías has the 4th highest rate of mortality due to diabetes in all of Puerto Rico
11.7% of the population in Las Marías is unemployed, reflecting a lack of economic opportunities in the area

Our work is centered in Puerto Rico, though we aspire to be a model of global change as we all face unprecedented challenges caused by the climate crisis as well as social and economic inequality.

Youth Club: We’re Recruiting!

Our Environmental Leaders Club is open to students from 8th to 12th grade in the town of Las Marías. The club meets monthly for workshops and activities that foster hands-on skills in agroecology, healthy eating, and entrepreneurship.
